PAP Community Foundation (PCF) Marine Parade celebrated National Day and its 40th Anniversary with a very special BBQ party for close to 1000 residents!
"Moving away from convention, we decided to have our celebrations outdoors and right in the community, to make it more inclusive for our residents! Glad to see so many more families indulging in the festivities and celebrating National Day together. :)
We hope everyone enjoyed the barbeque, ice cream, movie screening and many other treats yesterday! Thank you for joining us!" - MParader, Marine Parade's FB Page
EZBBQ was engaged as the Outdoor BBQ Food Partner for this exclusive event, which required prompt and efficient service, to manage this challenging task of almost 1,000.
Having done prior successful events such as the 1st-ever "BBQ By The Tracks" by PAP, and multiple food carnivals such as Radio 987FM's BBQ Cookouts, we were really looking forward to throwing an awesome party for the residents of Marine Parade, as well as for the many adorable children and families of Marine Crescent.
Some challenges we identified before the event were:
- huge turnout waiting for their dishes,
- cooked food sensitivity,
- slow service due to preparing on site,
- messy and insufficient event logistics
Our recommendations to the Event Committee during our first consultation, had the team of 6-7 grassroots volunteers nodding to our food tasting session. To reduce the highlighted challenges, we proposed various concepts which could cater for a huge turnout, yet not compromising on the food quality and safety handling.
The EZBBQ team remained in close contact with the organising committee's Point of contact, and later conducted two rounds of site recce for logistics liaison.
The Event turn out successfully as there were committed team effort from both sides.
Guest-of-Honour Mr Goh Chok Tong went around addressing the residents, and commended our EZBBQ team for the special concept and food quality, as he enjoyed several localised bbq dishes, such as grilled satay, marinated chicken wings, and otak-otak.
